One in ten college students is considering suicide right now. That leaves nine students to reach out and help some one. Nine out of Ten is one of the programs created by The Jordan Matthew Porco Memorial Foundation (JMPMF). The goal of this foundation and our programs is to prevent suicide by encouraging people on college campuses to recognize the signs that could lead to suicide and ACT on this heightened awareness. In addition to the programs and information you’ll find on our website, the JMPMF is collaborating with significant, existing resources available to colleges, families, communities and students both online and on campus.
Some of these resources were created by foundations similar to Jordan’s, others are student-run, and others are non-profits and government supported. Please visit the websites of these leading organizations and learn, participate, act, and reach out. It’s not enough to have the resources available, we must use them.
