Position Overview

The Development Manager is a full-time, part-remote role and will be responsible for bringing both structure and innovation to our expanding fundraising activities, including but not limited to attracting new donors and nurturing current relationships. This role is both strategic and tactical, requiring the ability to think big while following through on the details. The Development Manager must be a creative thinker, self-starter, excellent relationship manager and project leader who is comfortable juggling multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment. The role will collaborate closely with Communications, Partnerships, and Program team members to ensure development activities fully leverage and are fully integrated with other organizational functions. The successful candidate will report directly to and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and report monthly to the Board of Directors.   • Work closely with the Chief Executive Director to create and implement an organizational development plan and fundraising systems to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Formulate new and innovative fundraising ideas.
  • Work with the CEO to cultivate and maintain a culture of fund development at all levels of the organization.
  • Meet prospective donors, sponsors and supporters on a continual basis to cultivate effective relationships.
  • Expand donor reach to corporations, foundations and high net worth individuals.
  • Develop, manage and grow corporate sponsorship including prospecting/evaluation and package creation/sales.
  • Maintain fundraising database and tracking systems, and supervise timely gift acknowledgement and recognition.
  • Develop and successfully implement multi-tiered revenue producing fundraising strategies.
  • Direct annual donor fundraising initiatives, such as direct mailings, email campaigns, social media campaigns and social/peer-to-peer fundraising events.
  • Work closely with CEO and Board members to finalize/close major gifts or sponsorships.
  • Create publications and collateral materials to support fundraising activities with marketing manager.
  • Manage annual fundraiser plan and events including annual gala.
  • Promote and provide opportunities for Board engagement in fundraising.

Development Strategy and Leadership

  • In conjunction with the CEO, develop a donor acquisition, retention and management strategy including providing input on tactics to generate new leads, prospect research, and stewardship
  • Work with the Board of Directors to support and focus their development activities and deploy them for specific donor appreciation activities

Donor Development and Experience

  • Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline sufficient to hit progressively greater annual revenue goals by actively managing individual prospects and current donors
  • Design a donor experience plan for all major donors/funders, as well as appeals and campaigns
  • Project manage the CEO’s fundraising work, making recommendations on where and how best to spend her time and efforts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

Manage Grant Opportunities

  • Work collaboratively with our current grants process. Assist in prospect research and develop relationships with grant making organizations to ensure a robust pipeline of regional and national grant opportunities.

Manage Development Operations and Revenue Tracking

  • Draft acknowledgement letters and letter campaigns
  • Document activity in CRM for leads, prospects and closed (lost/won) and provide weekly reports on activity.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience; previous track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing sponsorships.
  • Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Fully PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of development experience
  • Experience managing and improving development operations, ranging from gift processing to donor management to budget monitoring
  • Experience in all areas of philanthropic revenue generation including individual giving appeals, institutional giving, grants, and corporate partnerships
  • The ability to communicate easily, respectfully, and sensitively, both verbally and in writing with stakeholders of all ages, generations, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Prior use of CRM a plus

Compensation and Benefits

$65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience
Flexible paid time off, 12 paid holidays

POSITION TITLE: Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist

FLSA: 25 hours per week

Position Overview:

  • The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist is a part-time, part-remote position primarily responsible for the execution and management of the external communications strategy for the Jordan Porco Foundation (JPF) and will work closely with all JPF departments. The individual will take a lead role in the planning and execution of all marketing and communication needs related to events and fundraising, social media, annual report, and maximizing organizational visibility to achieve public relations, program and revenue goals. Additionally, the Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will support the mission and direction of JPF and will represent the organization in a professional manner. A successful candidate will be motivated to improving the mental health of youth and young adults and working towards the mission of preventing suicide within this population.


  • Responsible for maintaining and managing website content
  • Creates and implements brand and messaging compliant social media content and manages content calendar
  • Produces and distributes e-newsletters
  • Manages marketing materials inventory ensuring needed quantities are available
  • Manages vendor relationships applicable to marketing including promotional and printing partners
  • Uses analytics to assess website, social media and newsletter utilization and makes recommendations to senior management
  • Produces written materials to support development outreach, including donor letters, sponsorship levels, development presentations, etc.
  • Supports development by conducting outreach to foundation constituents and prospects for the purposes of developing relationships
  • Coordinates all marketing collateral related to event planning, management and execution.
  • Ensures that all foundation materials are brand compliant and within messaging standard
  • Supports local video production
  • Participates in the management of administrative activities conducted on behalf of the development department
  • Attends weekly staff meetings
  • Performs other duties as needed and directed by supervisor


  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of marketing experience required
  • Social media content management skills required, including IG/TIK TOK/DISCORD/TWITCH/SNAPCHAT/TWITTER
  • Experience with content management of WordPress websites required
  • Video editing skills preferred
  • Proficiency in Canva or similar design software
  • Strong aptitude for technology and experience with Mailchimp, Constant Contact and/or other mass distribution products as well.
  • Event planning experience preferred
  • CRM experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Professional writing skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral communication ability
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities and job responsibilities
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
  • Must be a self-starter, able to perform efficiently with limited direction
