EAST HARTFORD, CONN – On September 13th, the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the event ‘Bids, Bites & Beer,’ at the Holiday Inn Hartford Downtown in East Hartford, CT.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jordan Porco Foundation(JPF), founded in 2011 by Ernie and Marisa Porco after they lost their son, Jordan, to suicide when he was a freshman in college. This event takes place during National Suicide Awareness Week and the mission of the Jordan Porco Foundation is to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults. JPF is a 501(c)3 non-profit, located in Hartford, CT, with national programs.

The evening will include live and silent auctions, featuring a range of items. Guests will enjoy a variety of tastings from craft breweries, in addition to wines, spirits and a full cash bar. Locally-sourced food pairings have been supported by Glastonbury farm Killam & Bassette.

As a new addition this year, Glastonbury based photography studio EB Taylor will be providing a Squad Pod Photo Booth, a selfie-style professional grade photography station elevated by a green screen.

Bids, Bites & Beer will last from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday, September 13th.  Tickets are $55 and must be purchased in advance. Please visit for registration and more information. To donate or sponsor, please contact the Chamber at 860-659-3587 or visit
