$75,000 Challenge Grant Benefiting the Jordan Porco Foundation
Connecticut, U.S. – May 17, 2017—The Jordan Porco Foundation received their first dollar for dollar match thanks to Stephen Corman, a community leader whose “adopted daughter” Abby Anderson died by suicide in 2014, at age 15. Everyone has a story. This is Stephen Corman’s story, in honor of Abby.
“We must let young people like Abby know that they are not alone, that it is ‘ok’ to seek help,” said Corman.
This very timely challenge grant will help fund the Jordan Porco Foundation’s 4 What’s Next program, including an online creative reflection platform featuring, “My Friend Abby.”

About the Jordan Porco Foundation
The Jordan Porco Foundation is a 501(c) (3) public charity. Their mission is to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults. They accomplish this by providing engaging and uplifting peer-run programs on college campuses. Their programs strive to start a conversation about mental health that reduces stigma while encouraging help-seeking and supportive behaviors. They’ve received multiple testimonies that prove their work is saving young adult lives. Most people are surprised to learn that suicide is the second leading cause of death for individuals between the ages of 15-24. Suicide rates are at their highest in 30 years. Prevention programs like theirs need your support more than ever.
