Alyeska Tilly, Intern

My name is Alyeska, I just graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Communication with the class of spring 21. I am currently attending graduate school to earn my master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Connecticut in Hartford. Mental health advocacy and education is extremely important to me, as my own past struggle with mental illness was a big contributor in paving the passion and desire to go into a career in the field of mental health. I was a member of Active Minds at my undergrad university and a Robbie’s Hope Ambassador. I have worked as a Paraprofessional aide working with children & as a Mental Health Worker in the psychiatric unit of a hospital. Although I’m still earning my degree and just starting my career in the mental health field, I have been advocating for mental health awareness and intervention through my own social network as well as attending community events related to suicide prevention and mental health for many years and I never plan to stop. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends, go hiking, cook, do arts/crafts, spend time with my dogs, and watch shows.
